Simple Energy India to build world’s largest e-scooter factory, invest Rs 2,500 crore

The world’s largest electric scooter factory is set to be built in Tamil Nadu. The electric vehicle startup Simple Energy is going to build this factory on 600 acres of land. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to set up the factory in Dharmapuri.

According to Simple Energy, they will invest Rs 2,500 crore over the next five years. In the first phase, the first factory is being built on 2 lakh square feet of land near Shulagiri (Hosur). About 10 lakh electric scooters will be manufactured in this factory every year. Work on the factory will start early next year. This is where the company’s flagship e-scooter Simple One will be built.

According to Mau, Simple Energy will invest Rs 1,000 crore to set up another factory (second phase) on 600 acres of land in Dharmapuri. Production will be fully launched there in 2023. The 600-acre plant proposed by Simple Energy will be bigger than the Olar Future Factory in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The plant will have a state-of-the-art research and development center, world-class testing facilities, and facilities at Vendor Park, Simple Energy said in a press release.

Those factories of Simple Energy will meet the demand of Indian customers as well as be exported to foreign markets. It will create 12,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Range and speed of electric scooter of Simple Energy

On August 15, Simple Energy’s first flagship e-scooter, the Simple One, debuted. It comes with a 4.8 kWh battery pack. The scooter can travel up to 203 km continuously in Eco mode and up to 240 km in IDC (Indian Drive circle). Simple One can run at a maximum speed of 105 km. This e-scooter of simple energy can accelerate 0-40 km / h in just 2.9 seconds.

The Simple One e-scooter from Simple Energy is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh.

Simple Loop Fast Charging Point of Simple Energy

Simple Energy will set up a fast-charging station for e-scooters called Simple Loop. At these charging points, Simple One will be able to run 2.5 km on just a 1-minute charge. In the next few months, Simple Energy will build more than 300 such Simple Loop First Charging Stations across the country.
